I can’t believe it. What is it about a New Year that makes us want to change? Well for me, I suppose, is that I feel like I can push restart on my stopwatch and try to do a whole new approach. We all want to eat better, take care of ourselves and families better and make focus on what’s important.

So we all frantically start our fitness routines, we tirelessly search the internet for healthy meal choices and so on. We want to live for the right reasons and spend time with the ones we love. I’m a person who feels life is a gift and we have to do what’s important to us when the opportunity is presented. When someone called you up and says “Hey, come over and play a game of cards!” DO IT! Really, the laundry will be there when you get back. Or you have that opportunity to quit that job you hate and go for the one you’d always wanted to try. Why not?

I have the same attitude about doing a build-on or renovation of your home. So many times I hear my clients say they all wish they would have built on to the house when the kids were younger and could have enjoyed it. Or why didn’t we build our dream home when the family was young?

There really are a lot options. Just like at the beginning of the New Year, we want to live better. Let’s make us healthier. Realizing and filling your home plans and dreams can be very healthy for you and your family. Most of the times, there seems like a big and daunting task but realize there are people like me that can help you through the process. Local contractors, builders and drafters can help in the beginning stages to interior decorators that can take you through the entire process. Whether it be a new build, a renovation or just a refresh of your current home, talk to someone you can trust.

There is no time like the present to take care of your mind, body and soul. We only get once chance at today. Don’t regret it tomorrow. So till next time, it’s that girl Shannon saying “Squeeze those cheeseburgers out of those thighs and squat! Happy New Year!”
